Bagpipes meet metal, Irish speedfolk meets honest folk rock: on 25 July 2026 the Nordstern Folk & Fire Festival brings three strong bands to an open-air stage in Bremerhaven – and from Nordseezimmer you can be there in half an hour.
It is the first edition – a brand-new festival evening on the North Sea coast that promises just the right mix of campfire mood and stage power. Here is everything on the date, line-up, getting there and tickets.

Three bands, one evening
The line-up spans a wide arc – from living-room folk to stadium rock:
- In Extremo – pioneers of medieval rock who for almost three decades have combined bagpipes, shawm and hurdy-gurdy with powerful metal riffs. The headliner, with a big stage show.
- Fiddler's Green – Irish speedfolk from Erlangen: fast, danceable and good-humoured. A guarantee for a lively atmosphere.
- Rauhbein – folk rock with honest, German-language lyrics – down to earth and direct.
Together the three deliver around four hours of live music: from the first note at about 6:30pm well into the evening.
Date & doors
The festival takes place on Saturday 25 July 2026 on the open-air grounds at the Stadthalle Bremerhaven. Doors open at 5:00pm and the first band starts around 6:30pm. Come early to secure a good spot and ease into the evening.
Getting there from Nordseezimmer
By car you are around 30 minutes from Nordseezimmer to the Stadthalle – via the A27 towards Bremerhaven. Parking is available at the Stadthalle. Alternatively, take the train to Bremerhaven main station, from where it is only about a 10-minute walk. Either way: a short trip for a long concert evening.
Open air by the North Sea means it can turn cool and breezy in the evening. Pack a light jacket, even if the day was warm. And the best part of the trip from Otterndorf: after the last song you don't have far to go – in half an hour you are back in your own room with a real bed and a private bathroom, instead of a busy hotel in the middle of the city.
